Training day eleven, I did not take any pictures. The trainer dove Foxy, after I had lunged him for about five minutes. When we were done driving Foxy, we clipped his bridle path and trimmed his ears. We did his ears so we could check them for mites.

It is 27 April 1999. Today all I did was take Foxy out and give him a very good grooming. I combed out his mane and tail with a small comb. I picked up all four of his feet and cleaned them. I spent some time getting Foxy to let me pick up all four feet while staying on one side of him, I then did the same from the other side. When he was very young, I started working with him so he would do this. I did it to make it easier for the shoer to work with him. When I was done with Foxy's feet, I used a small rubber curry to brush him. Then I went over him again with a soft brush. I did not take any pictures today.

In the following three pictures, Foxy is learning how to pony. What this means, is that his halter is attached to a lead rope, which is fastened to the saddle on the other horse.

This picture was taken after Foxy had been fastened to the other horse. The other horse is named Santyr.

Here Foxy is following the other horse around the arena. His nose is about even with the knee of the rider on Santyr.

In this photo, Foxy is trotting alongside the other horse.

In this picture and the next one, you can see Foxy's new halter. You can also see that his ears were trimmed and his bridle path cut.

This picture and the prior four pictures were taken on friday 30 April 1999. During the past week, we have done very little with Foxy. This coming week we will continue with Foxy's training.
