Our Pets

Helga is a black and grey German Shepherd/Malamute cross. She is now about three years old, 75 pounds and 30 inches at the shoulders. She has been trained to carry a pack and to pull a cart. Helga enjoys both of these activities.

Bobtail is an alley cat, sort of. His parents were alley cats, however he really enjoys being around people. He is a black and brown tabby with a very short tail, which is how he gets his name. Bobtail is about eight years old.

Purple belongs to my husband, or perhaps more accurately, he belongs to her. We think she may be a Birman because of her coloring and size and shape. She has one extra toe on each foot and a very strange temperament. She is about 14 years old and weighs 10 pounds.

Fritz is my husband's dog. He is about eight years old, 85 pounds, and 27 inches at the shoulders. He is a black and tan German Shepherd. He is willing to carry a pack when we go for short walks, but he is in general a lazy dog. Fritz's favorite thing to do is lay down to eat. He also likes to play in snow, in fact it is hard to keep him inside when it is snowing. As Fritz has gotten older, one of his favorite places to sleep hes become the bathtub. The picture here shows him in the tub. It was taken on 23 September 1999.

TN Fox Ann is one of our horses. She is a chestnut Arabian filly. She will be one on 10 Sept 1999. I have been told that I am fully responsible for all of her training. It is my hope to be able to show her.

Foxy Prize Perdue is my horse. He is an Arabian. He is a bay with some white markings. I frequently call him "Foxy" instead of his full registered name. I have taught him to give me all of his feet from either side. Foxy is just turning three this year. He is starting training under saddle. I expect to start riding him sometime this summer. Next year I plan to show him in the fair.
